Our Clinics
Barrington
Barrington Osteopathic
Clinic is part of a multidisciplinary practice. 259
Barrington St also houses two midwifery groups
(Midwives on Barrington and Pregnancy Matters) and a
massage therapist (Angela Hall). Where appropriate in house referrals provide clients with all around
great health care.
South
Brighton
Barrington Osteopathic
Clinic and Acupuncture For Health have joined
together to provide South Brighton with a
multidisciplinary clinic. They are now able to offer
patients a team approach to healthcare which is
tailored to address their individual needs.
Our Staff
Amanda Viedma-Dodd
is the principal osteopath. She
graduated from Unitec in early 2006 with a
Master of Osteopathy and Bachelor
of Applied Science (Human Biology). Amanda joined the practice in June 2006
and spent almost a year working and learning
alongside Cyrille Touffet (the founder of the
clinic) until his return to France and her purchase
of the practice in April 2007.
Amanda enjoys treating
a wide variety of patients especially those for whom
conventional treatment is limited. For example
during pregnancy, when much of the pharmaceutical
management of pain is unavailable, Osteopathy is
ideal and extremely effective.
Amanda is currently on maternity leave. She intends to return to the clinic around 1 April 2010.
Amanda gave birth at home, as planned, to a gorgeous wee boy, Elias, on 15 January 2010. Amanda is doing very well at home. Elias's older sister Emily is overjoyed that she has a brother.
Nicholas Taylor completed his Master of Osteopathy at Unitec in Auckland. He moved to Christchurch and joined the practise at the beginning of April 2009. He is interested in all forms of osteopathic practise and is keen to develop them further within his own approaches to treatment.
Nick is keen on the outdoors, an avid rock climber, mountain biker and white water kayaker. As such he has an interest in treating sporting related problems but also likes to treat a range of people and help them maximise their health.
Nick's clinic hours are 9.00am till 5.00pm Tuesday,
Wednesday and Friday for general practice.
George McKenzie is the
latest osteopath to join the practice and started at
Barrington Osteopathic Clinic in July 2009. He
graduated with a Master of Osteopathy from Unitec
and is interested in general osteopathic practice.
He will be working part
time at both the Barrington and the South Brighton
clinics. George is at the Barrington clinic on
Monday and Wednesday and is at the South Brighton
clinic on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30am
until 4:45pm.
